Involvenment in cat fancy
I have been involved in the local Cat Fancy in one way or another for the last 20 years. I have served on Club Committees from time to time, mainly as a Show Manager. Currently I am the Show Manager for the CFSA Cat of the Year. I serve on the CFSA Executive Committee and
am also the CFSA National Cat Registrar. I am the Chairman of our Judges Forum and also serve as the Chairman
of the National Cat Judges Executive and am currently responsible for the training of new Judges. As can be seen
from the above almost my entire life revolves around the Cat Fancy - it is a most rewarding experience and I am indeed
privileged to be able to do so.
Personal live
I share my life with a life-partner Deon, three dogs and five cats but not necessarily in this order! I often tell people that my animals do not live with me but rather that I live with my animals. They are my pride and joy and I could not imagine living without them. Twenty years ago when I got my first Pedigree cat (an Oriental Lilac) I did not for a moment thought that cats would take over my life so completely. I have bred Orientals, British, Exotic and Persian Colour Points. Some of the cats that belong to me have achieved titles on show and I was also fortunate enough to have some of them in the Cat of the Year.
I am currently owned by a British, Persian Colourpoint, Domestic Cat, Devon Rex and an Exotic Short Hair. Also in the house are two dogs (Pekinese) and a large dog (Golden Retriever) that live on the property. I have judge through the whole of South-Africa not only for CFSA, but also for SACC and WCF. Being so involved in the Cat Fancy had not only enriched my life, but it also keeps me humble.
